Caribbean : Reggae Sloppy Joes
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 (12-ounce) bottle chili sauce
- 3 tablespoons TABASCO® brand Caribbean Style Steak Sauce
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 6 hard rolls, split horizontally and toasted
In a large skillet over moderate heat, cook onion, bell pepper and garlic in oil for 5 minutes or until vegetables are softened. Transfer mixture to a small bowl.
Cook ground beef in the same skillet over medium-high heat for 5 minutes or until no longer pink, breaking up lumps with a spoon as meat cooks. Stir in onion mixture, chili sauce, TABASCO® Caribbean-Style Steak Sauce, and vinegar; cover and simmer 10 minutes, stirring once. Serve on toasted rolls.
Makes 6 servings.
